New York, N.Y. Our Republican Legacy (ORL), a national initiative dedicated to restoring integrity and responsibility within the Republican Party, today announced the appointment of Stephen Rolandi as its new New York State Chair.

Professor Rolandi brings decades of experience in government, higher education, and the nonprofit sector to his new role. Currently an Adjunct Professor of Public Administration at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Pace University, Rolandi has taught courses in public policy, human resource management, organization theory, public finance, and nonprofit management for over 15 years.

A native of Brooklyn, Rolandi previously served as Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration at the New York State Division of Human Rights, and spent two decades in New York City government under Mayors Koch, Dinkins, Giuliani, and Bloomberg. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from New York University.

Rolandi has been active in Republican circles as a self-described moderate, having served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Ripon Society, while also engaging in civic and professional organizations such as the American Society for Public Administration, the New-York Historical Society, and the New Amsterdam History Center.

“Professor Rolandi embodies the thoughtful, principled leadership that Our Republican Legacy stands for,” said Senator Jack Danforth, Founder of ORL. “His lifelong dedication to public service, his commitment to civility, and his ability to bring people together across divides will make him an invaluable leader for ORL in New York.”

In his new role, Rolandi will help advance ORL’s mission, built around five core principles:

  1. Unity

  2. The Constitution

  3. Fiscal Responsibility

  4. Free Enterprise

  5. Peace through Strength.

“I am honored to serve as New York State Chair for Our Republican Legacy,” said Rolandi. “ORL’s principles reflect the values that drew me to public service — and I look forward to working with fellow New Yorkers to build a stronger, more responsible Republican Party.”

Professor Rolandi resides in Larchmont, New York.

Our Republican Legacy was founded in 2024 by former Republican Senators John Danforth, William Cohen, and the late Alan Simpson, along with 34 other distinguished former Republican Members of Congress and elected officials. The organization promotes five enduring principles: unity, the Constitution, fiscal responsibility, free enterprise, and peace through strength.
