WASHINGTON, D.C. – Our Republican Legacy (ORL) today announced that former Montana Governor and Republican National Committee Chairman Marc Racicot will join the organization as its new Chair, serving alongside founding chairs Senators John Danforth and William Cohen.
Governor Racicot assumes the seat once held by the late Senator Alan Simpson, one of ORL’s original founding chairs, whose legacy of integrity, decency, and bipartisan leadership continues to inspire the organization’s mission.
In addition, ORL founding members Representatives Charlie Dent and Barbara Comstock will be elevated to the role of Chair, expanding the leadership team to reflect the organization’s growing reach and renewed focus on rebuilding the Republican Party in all fifty states.
“We are pleased to welcome Governor Marc Racicot as a new Chair,” said Senator John Danforth. “Marc exemplifies the founding principles of Our Republican Legacy: service above self, reverence for the Constitution, and a belief in governing with honor and humility. He brings deep experience and principled leadership at a time when our party must rediscover its better angels.”
A former U.S. Army JAG Corps officer, two-term Governor of Montana, and Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Racicot has long been recognized for his principled and pragmatic leadership.
“I’m honored to join Our Republican Legacy and to continue the tradition of principled leaders like Senator Alan Simpson,” said Governor Marc Racicot. “This is a moment to recommit to what drew many of us to public service in the first place — building a party that is rooted in character, civility, respect for the rule of law, and fidelity to the Constitution. I look forward to this new chapter, focused on renewing our party’s foundation and future.”
